The photo is of my step-mom, Madelyn, holding my oldest son at his Baptism.
I am a stay-at-home and homeschooling mom to my 5th grade son and my youngest turned 3 in May! My husband is a teacher and high school football coach. I lost my step-mom, Madelyn, to ovarian cancer on December 31, 2009. She fought a tough fight for 4 1/2 years. I was blessed to receive all of her sewing accessories and her treasured machine after she passed away! In her accessories, I found the pattern she made to sew all of her chemo hats. I used to use her sewing machine to make each hat, but I now use my moms. My mother, Lynda, passed away December 13, 2014 after an 8 year battle with cancer. It is bittersweet for me to be using my step mom's sewing pattern and my mom's sewing machine.
6 Madelyn Hats were delivered to the Florida Cancer Specialists office near Blake Hospital today! Dr. Berry thinks they will go quickly! Hopefully, they will brighten someone's day! It sure brightened mine!
